Reigning RYOBI Cup champions Queensland were sent in to bat and made 8/273 on the back of a well-made 85 from James Peirson and some fast finishing from captain James Hopes (49*).

Johan Botha (3-42) was the pick of the SA bowlers, while Adam Zampa and Joe Mennie picked up two wickets each.

Zampa (66 from 50 balls) was the only shining light of the Redbacks’ run chase as wickets fell cheaply.

SA were all out for 183 in the 35th over with impressive bowling performances from Nathan Haurtiz (3-31), Jason Floros (2-13), Ben Cutting (2-27) and Michael Neser (2-62).

Cricket Australia (CA) later advised that Adam Zampa had been reprimanded for breaching the CA Code of Behaviour after being reported by umpires for ‘using language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during a match’.

Zampa pleaded guilty and accepted Match Referee Peter Marshall’s proposed sanction of an official reprimand. It was Zampa’s first offence in the past 18 months.

At Blacktown, WA celebrated their first win for the tournament after dismissing the Tigers for 204 all out with seven balls to spare.

Andrew Tye continued his standout debut season in the RYOBI Cup with 5-46 and moved to the top of the leading wicket-takers table, as no Tassie batsmen passed a half-century.

Earlier, man of the match Shaun Marsh (84) and John Rogers (68) batted WA to a defendable 8/256, which proved too much for the Tigers and resulted in a bonus point win for WA.

The Tasmanian Tigers have finished their round matches for the tournament and currently sit third on the ladder, three points ahead of the NSW Blues who still have two matches remaining.
