The Cleveland Indians new name will soon come, with fans stunned by the news that the team will be changing its name after over 100 years.

ESPN’s Jeff Passan reported, “Sources confirm the @nytmike and @DavidWaldstein report that the Cleveland Indians will be dropping their nickname. While it’s unclear what they will replace it with, the Indians — who have been called that for more than a century and nearly 17,000 games — will be no more.”

Fans and media outlets have suggested a variety of new names, including the Cleveland Tribe, Cleveland Baseball Team, Cleveland Crows, and Cleveland Rocks.

Washington Football tweeted, “Cleveland Baseball Team?”

Cle Foot and Brews suggested, “I’m begging, I’m pleading, please @Indians call yourself the Cleveland Tribe. Think about how many times on TV and radio they refer to them as the Tribe. Also, look at the definition of Tribe, nothing offensive about it whatsoever. Ask @GVartwork for help with the logo though!”

Chuck Woolery joked, “Finally Cleveland Indians changed their name to the Cleveland Squirrels. Has a kinda nutty feel to if.”

Justyn Bowen Designs said, “It’s time for a new era in 𝙏𝙃𝙀 π™‡π˜Όπ™‰π˜Ώ. #baseball #mlb #cleveland #indians #crows.”

Jared Carrabis wrote, “If it weren’t for Ben Zobrist, I would be starting a campaign to name the team after Rajai Davis.”
