Pakistan teenager killed after being hit by a cricket ball

18-year-old Pakistan cricketer Zeeshan Mohammed has been killed after being hit on the chest while playing a cricket club match in Orangi Town, Karachi, on Sunday.

Doctors said the blow caused a heart seizure. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at hospital.

“He was brought to the hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival,” said Dr Samad. “We have been told he was hit in the chest by a fast bowler while batting and collapsed on the pitch.”

The police had no investigated further as the death was deemed an accident.

Zeeshan Mohammad loses his life only two months after Australia batsman Phil Hughes was killed after being hit by a Sean Abbott bouncer during a Sheffield Shield match in Sydney.
