#CWC15: Saeed Ajmal to share mic with Sarfaraz Nawaz and Imran Nazir

Saeed Ajmal may miss the ICC Cricket World Cup as a player because of his bowling action, but the 38-year-old Pakistan off-spin bowler has been hired by the Urdu TV channel in Pakistan for the matches.

“I have signed with Dunya TV for the World Cup commentary, said Ajmal, who will be keeping a keen eye on every ball bowled at the World Cup. “I shall be sitting in a Studio in Lahore and offer my comments on matches not only involving the Pakistan team, but other countries as well.

“My views will be aired after every match played in Australia and New Zealand.”

Along with Saeed Ajmal, the TV channel has signed two more cricketers for the mega-event.

“Imran Nazir and Sarfaraz Nawaz too have been signed for the mega-even,” Ahmed Raza, the TV channel official confirms.

Saeed Ajmal has remained optimistic about his testing results in Chennai.

“I am hopeful of being cleared. However, (I’m) not changing my decision of pulling out of the World Cup squad,” he told World Cricket Badger. “The decision was taken in the last week of December and even if I am cleared of my action, I will not make myself available for the World Cup. Playing of this World Cup is not in my destiny and I accept it.”

The 50-over World Cup is played every four year and the next scheduled to be played in England in 2019 may not see a 42-year-old Ajmal.
