BBL|04: Ricky Ponting believes Big Bash will continue to grow

Ricky Ponting has been behind the microphone throughout BBL|04 and believes the growth in the Australian T20 tournament will continue.

BBL|04 has seen record crowds, thrilling matches and has provoked other nations to look closely at the tournament in a bid to learn lessons on how its success can be replicated.

“Everyone you bump into just wants to talk about how good it’s been,” Ponting said. “That’s not what we’re doing in the commentary box, it’s the level of cricket that’s been played and how much enjoyment people have got from turning up at the grounds and watching some of the best athletes in the world go around for three hours in an entertaining game.

“So, I can’t see any reason why it would drop off,” he added. “I think if we get a few more of the Australian superstar players back into their franchises then more and more people will turn up.”
