Western Warriors fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile has returned to Perth to complete his rehabilitation from a hamstring injury after being ruled out of the remainder of the 2014 Indian Premier League (IPL).
The IPL Technical Committee confirmed on Sunday it had approved the replacement of Coulter-Nile from the Delhi Daredevils squad for the 2014 tournament.
Coulter-Nile suffered the hamstring injury in the first over of last week’s loss to the Chennai Super Kings. The injury is a slight recurrence of the hamstring complaint he suffered during the 2013-14 season.
The 26-year-old has arrived back in Perth to complete his rehabilitation and the WACA is confident the fast bowler will be in good condition to partake in full pre-season training under Warriors coach Justin Langer.
Coulter-Nile is in contention for Australia’s One-Day Internationals against Zimbabwe and South Africa in August and will look to prepare himself for the Triangular Series, as well as the Perth Scorchers’ 2014 Champions League Twenty20 campaign, with a strong pre-season in WA.
