The international foursome will play in the fixture on Saturday 5 July which is part of the Lord’s Bicentenary celebrations. The MCC XI will be captained by Sachin Tendulkar and also includes Rahul Dravid, while the Rest of the World side will be led by Shane Warne.

The MCC XI will be managed by MCC President Mike Gatting and the Rest of the World XI will be managed by ex-South Africa all-rounder and MCC World Cricket committee member Shaun Pollock.

All four players have enjoyed previous success at Lord’s. Former England international Collingwood appears on the Honours Board twice after Test centuries against Pakistan in 2006 and West Indies in 2007, and also won the Friends Provident Trophy final at the Home of Cricket in 2007 with Durham.

Chanderpaul also features on the Honours Board having scored 128 not out in the first of a five-test series against England in 2004.

Yuvraj Singh, who drew a bid of $2.3m from Royal Challengers Bangalore at yesterday’s IPL auction, hit 69 in India’s famous 2002 Natwest Series Final victory, while Sehwag struck 84 in a Test Match at Lord’s in the same year.

Paul Collingwood said: “It is an honour to have been asked to play for MCC in such a special game and it will be great to play with and against some of the best cricketers in the world. Playing at Lord’s is always a thrill and I’m privileged to be able to celebrate the current Ground’s bicentenary in such an exciting way. It’s testament to the work of MCC and the aura of this fantastic Ground that it has been able to retain its status as the Home of Cricket for so many years and I’m sure there will be many more to come.”

MCC President Gatting said: “With cricketers from England, West Indies, Australia and India now on board for this historic match, it helps to demonstrate the standing both Lord’s Cricket Ground and MCC have throughout the cricketing world. I’m delighted that Paul, Yuvraj, Virender and Shivnarine want to come and celebrate the current Ground’s bicentenary year with us.”

“Of course we were delighted to have secured the players we did last week, and it’s very exciting to now be able to announce players of this calibre.”

The inaugural MCC v Rest of the World women’s match takes place on Monday 19th May at Lord’s, and England captain Charlotte Edwards has been confirmed to lead the MCC Women’s XI which also includes the Chair of MCC Women’s sub-committee Claire Taylor.

MCC will be announcing more names for the men’s match and the full line ups for the women’s match later this month. The ICC will select the Rest of the World Women’s XI for first time and full line ups will be announced this month.

Tickets for both men’s and women’s MCC v Rest of the World matches can be purchased now from www.lords.org/tickets or by calling 020 7432 1000.
