Dan Redfern has signed for Leicestershire ahead of the 2014 season on a two-year contract.
“I am grateful to Phil Whitticase and his staff for this opportunity and look forward to the challenge ahead,” said the 23-year-old who registered a first-class career best score of 133 against Hampshire in Derbyshire’s promotion season of 2012.
During that successful year, the left-hander scored 848 first-class runs at an average of 38.48, and has scored 3,213 first-class runs in his career to date.
Redfern also played in 43 List A matches and 14 t20 games while at the County Ground, and his off-break bowling and dynamic fielding mean he offers the Club plenty of options.
“We are really pleased to welcome Dan Redfern to Grace Road, he will be a great addition for us,” said Leicestershire’s Director of Cricket Phil Whitticase. “Dan is a quality young top-order batsman, he is excellent in the field and also bowls good off-spin, so we are delighted to have him on board.”
