He came to the crease with his side a precarious 38 for 4 that later worsened to 88 for 5 and then proceeded to share a stand of 159 for the sixth wicket in 25.4 overs with Clem Murray (57*) that gave his side a total of 247/5 that proved to be just defendable.

Hoosen finished unbeaten on 111 (126 balls, 17 fours and a six) and then took 4 for 65 for an outstanding all-round contribution.

Another match-winning contribution came from Kabelo Sekhukhune whose unbeaten 102 (111 balls, 7 fours and 4 sixes) set up Easterns for their victory over Free State by 46 runs on the D/L method.

SWD scored another good win, beating KZN Inland by three wickets while in one of the clashes of the big guns KZN Coastal beat Gauteng by the surprisingly large margin of 83 runs on the D/L method thanks to a superb all-round performance by Andile Phehlukwayo. After scoring 42 runs he inflicted mortal damage to the Gauteng top order, taking 4 for 25.

Tristan Tedder also had a good day, scoring 53 runs and then taking 4 for 16 to destroy what was left of the Gauteng batting order.
