We keep you up-to-date with news ahead of the Champions League t20 (CLt20) starting on 17 September.
Mitchell Marsh ruled out
A hamstring injury has ruled Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh out of Perth Scorchers’ CLt20 campaign.
Marsh sustained the injury in July on Australia A’s tour of South Africa and suffered a relapse during a Scorchers training session.
Western Australia all-rounder Hilton Cartwright is Marsh’s replacement.
Security issues mean no cricket in Hyderabad
Security issues have led CLt20 games to be moved from Hyderabad to Mohali, Ranchi and Ahmedabad. Andhra Pradesh state police said that they would not be able to provide adequate security for the matches as they clash with the Ganesh immersion festival.
The qualifying matches on September 17, 18, 20 and a Group B double-header on September 24 will now be played in Mohali. Ranchi will host a double-header on September 28 while Ahmedabad will host a double-header on September 30.
Sangakarra resolves differences
Kumar Sangakkara has escaped a reprimand from the Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) after the parties differences were resolved amicably at a meeting. SLC have asked Sangakkara to play for the Kandurata Maroons instead of his IPL franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The manner in which the issue was played out publicly created bad blood between him and the Sri Lankan board with the player alleging the board had deliberately misrepresented his situation, putting his loyalty to the country in public doubt.
