Members of Kenya’s national cricket team will assemble in groups to donate blood for the terror-affected victims in Nairobi on Wednesday. This was revealed by team captain Collins Obuya.

Speaking exclusively from Nairobi, Obuya said, “All players have decided to donate blood for the people who are injured on Sunday following the terror-attack in Westgate Shopping Mall”.
“The players, after our practice session on Wednesday, will visit in batches the Aga Khan Hospital and M.P.Shah Hospital (Nairobi) and donate blood. They will also show sympathy towards the victims and pray for their early recovery”.
There are over 70 people dead and more than 175 others nursing bullet injuries after the tragedy.
“No players or friends or relatives are the victims on Sunday but our heart-felt condolences are to the family members who have lost their near and dear ones. We feel very sorry for them and wish speedy recovery to those who are injured”. .
“Hopefully police will be able to find the culprits”, the captain added.
Another Kenya player, Nelson Mandela (yes, you have read correctly, the 25-year-old right-handed medium pacer Nelson Mandela Odhiambo playes for Kenya) when approached in Kenya, hoped, “They (the terrorists) will soon be hunted down. They are dangerous people. They are just killing anyone they see in front of them”.
The Kenya team is preparing for the UAE tour, commencing next week.
“We shall be playing two Twenty20 and two ODIs’ against Afghanistan at Sharjah and our good performance will be dedicated to the terror victims”, Obuya added.
“There are no immediate matches scheduled in Kenya but the recent attack in Sharjah will not be an hindrance to host matches here”, he concluded.
