Rahul Dravid and two other Indian players have been made witnesses on a Delhi police charge sheet against spot-fixers in Indian Premier League (IPL) matches, according to Kailash Bisht, the Investigation Officer in Delhi police Special Cell.

Speaking exclusively from Delhi, minutes after the charge sheet procedure had been completed in the court, Bisht said, “We have also named Sidharth Trivedi and Harmeet Singh as witnesses against these players and bookies”.

Rahul Dravid and his IPL team (Rajasthan Royals) officials are also named as prosecution witnesses.

Delhi police had recorded the statements of Trivedi and Harmeet Singh a few weeks ago.

Dawood Ibrahim has been made the prime accused in the case. “We know about his whereabouts. He is hiding in Karachi and we have his address,” Neeraj Kumar, the Police Commissioner said.

“Notice will be sent to Dawood Ibrahim at his Karachi address soon,” Bisht added. “He is wanted in many cases by police in India. Even if he flees to other countries, India can make friendly request to the authorities”, he added.

Neeraj Kumar will be spending his last day as Police Commissioner in Delhi on Wednesday. The charge will be taken over by B.S.Bassi. After accepting the congratulatory message in advance, he said, “We will take every possible steps to nail the culprits”.
