It is unquestionable that the CPLt20 will produce great opportunities for the Caribbean, however for the players across the region it is a long-awaited prayer.

It provides players with a method of doing their job with some kind of financial consolation as well as a motive to improve their technique by getting involved.

Additionally, with the big franchise tournaments around the world, this will create more prospects for our regional players.

I’ll admit that I don’t think I’ll just enjoy watching it from the stands like a regular cricket fan. I am also a cricketer that will want to maximize my opportunities to make the draft in times to come.

Could you point a bad finger?

I don’t think any negative thoughts could be heard about the excitement that the CPLt20 will bring. With the inclusion of the big name players it will provide a big inspiration for young regional players to learn from these guys.

Every bit of advice they could offer will help their game.

Don’t count me out

To have a few of my close mates involved in the tournament, that’s where my excitement will come from. I will be backing them all the way to perform well and to do big things.

I am striving so that one day I too will be doing big things alongside them in the same arena.

Jason Greene is a cricketer for Wanderers Cricket Club, he has represented the Barbados Select XI and blogs about the game and has a has a strong love for coffee. He says, “Cricket is my passion!”
