Team India’s physio, Patrick Farhat, is travelling with injured players, Lokesh Rahul (main photo) and Murali Vijay, to London for their treatment.
According to the BCCI sources, Farhat will accompany them to two different doctors before they undergo surgery later in the week. Rahul (RCB) and Vijay (Kings XI Punjab) have both been sidelined from IPL2017 due to shoulder injuries.
“This is not the first instance when the physio has travelled with the players overseas,” a BCCI source told us. “India is not playing any international match before the IPL season is over and he will be handy to assess the fitness and rehabilitation issues and coordinate with the surgeons in UK.
“The physio did not accompany Rohit Sharma for his surgery because he was busy in the home matches and Rohit’s case was a sure surgery case, whereas Rahul’s shoulder injury and Murali Vijay’s wrist injury need consultation prior to their operations,” our source added.
