Brisbane Heat have secured English T20 International Tymal Mills to replace injured West Indian leg-spinner Samuel Badree.
Mills made his English T20I debut last July and will use his stint with the Heat to build momentum for the upcoming T20 series against India in India at the end of the month.
The 24-year-old has been playing for the Auckland Aces in the New Zealand Super Smash series in December, taking 10 wickets in 10 matches with an economy rate of 6.61.
The Heat signed the Sussex quick to play matches against the Scorchers next week and the Melbourne Stars at the MCG on Tuesday, January 17 as the replacement for Badree, who suffered a minor hamstring injury in the loss to the Sydney Sixers earlier this week.
“With Sam Badree and Josh Lalor both out injured at the moment, the opportunity to provide additional variety to the attack was very attractive,” said Heat coach Dan Vettori.
“Tymal has been going well for Auckland so he is match-ready.
“We’re looking forward to having him join us and prepare for the matches ahead at the Gabba and the MCG where the conditions should suit him.”
