Sydney Sixers have signed New Zealand allrounder Colin Munro to replace England player Sam Billings.
The left-handed allrounder will slot into the middle order in place of Billings, who has flown to India to join up with England’s limited-overs squad.
Munro will miss the Sixers’ clash with the Renegades at the SCG on Monday, but will be available for their blockbuster derby against the Sydney Thunder on January 14.
The 29-year-old has represented the Black Caps across all three formats and has played in a host of T20 leagues around the world including the Indian and Caribbean premier leagues.
“Colin is a fantastic short form batter and the ideal replacement for Sam Billings,” Sixers General Manager Dominic Remond said. “He had a great year in the CPL and has experience in the IPL with a terrific range of shots. He is in great form with his century for New Zealand against Bangladesh today showing his capabilities.
“Colin will be a valuable asset to help us secure a finals spot, he’ll be Sydney’s favourite Kiwi.”
