Cameron Bancroft signs for Gloucestershire return in 2017

23-year-old Australian wicketkeeper-batsman Cameron Bancroft will return to Gloucestershire in 2017 and will be available for the full English summer.

Bancroft, who played for Gloucestershire for the first two months of the 2016 season, will predominantly play Championship Cricket for Gloucestershire, with the option to play white ball cricket if the opportunity arises.

“Last year was fantastic to be a part of this great club,” Bancroft said. “There’s an excellent culture and we showed we can be really competitive in all forms. I can’t wait to get back over and score runs for the team and hopefully continue to grow and move our way up in division two.

“I had an awesome time with my teammates and I’m itching to play some good cricket for the club.”

Bancroft, who has recently been touted as a Test debutant in Australia’s up-coming matches against South Africa & Pakistan, is set to return to the Brightside Ground ahead of the start of the Specsavers County Championship season in March 2017.

Gloucestershire Chief Executive, Will Brown, said: “We are delighted to have signed Cameron for the 2017 season and we are looking forward to seeing him return to play in a Gloucestershire shirt.”
