Colin and Wendy Cutting were on cloud nine when their son Ben was awarded the Man of the Match (MoM) award in the IPL final on Sunday night.
It was around 5.00 AM in Brisbane, where both parents didn’t sleep the whole night so the could watch the final on the television.
“Very very proud and happy for our son,” Colin Cutting enthused. “He very well deserved the Player of the Match award. I don’t know what he would do with this money. He will head home for a rest.”
Ben Cutting collected a cheque of Rs.10 lacs.
Earlier, when Ben remained unbeaten with 39 runs, the father had said, “we are very excited at his power hitting”.
Cutting’s 39 runs included 3 fours and 4 sixes, out of which one went out of the ground.
“It is 3.00 AM here in Brisbane and is the appropriate time to watch the IPL”.
“Great wicket for Sunrisers”, Cutting senior had said when Chris Gayle was out off his son bowling, but not before hitting four more than Cutting had himself.
He has toured UAE, Sri Lanka, Morocco and Malaysia, to name a few, and contributes to a large number of newspapers in India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
