Misbah-ul-Haq believes India are favourites for the ICC World T20 after they beat his Pakistan side by five wickets at the Asia Cup.
After Pakistan were bowled out for 83 in Mirpur and India were led to a comfortable win by Virat Kohli, but Misbah believes Pakistan can bounce back to reach the latter stages of the Asia Cup.
He was impressed with India however, and thinks they will be a tough outfit to beat on home soil when the World T20 gets underway in a week’s time.
“All the Asian teams appear to be in good shape in the WT20, especially India, because they can give a tough time to any team in the subcontinent,” Misbah said. “They have a brilliant batting line-up and spin-bowling attack, and that’s why I feel they are the team we need to look to.”
Misbah is confident Pakistan can recover from the defeat to their greatest rivals and reach the Asia Cup final
“Although Pakistan lost the opening match against India in the Asia Cup, they shouldn’t lose hope,” Misbah stated. “That their bowlers made 83 look difficult against a strong batting team like India, is something that will encourage them in the next games.”
