He is a keen cricketer and clearly enjoyed receiving some coaching from Otis Gibson, England’s bowling coach. He attended the net session at the request of Neil Burns, who has been one of the England’s most influential independent coaches.

Arjun bats and bowls left-handed and looked a real prospect.

He hit 118 from 42 balls for Dhirubhai Ambani International School at the Smaaash Master Blaster School Cricket Championship in India in September last year.

Arjun was highly praised by England’s assistant coach Paul Farbace.

“Arjun bowled very nicely in the nets to the England team,” Farbrace told us. “He swung the ball in to the right-handers and away from the left-handers. He has good control and bowled very well.”
“Neil Burns contacted me and asked if Arjun could watch practice yesterday, which I agreed to and then he asked if he could bowl today,” Farbrace added. “We were delighted to invite him into our session this morning.”
