#CWC15: Srinivasan does honours as ICC president ‘ignored’ at presentation ceremony

As ICC chairman N. Srinivasan handed over the World Cup trophy to Michael Clarke the ICC president AHM Mustafa Kamal looked on which has surprised many.

In the past ICC presidents had got the opportunity to hand over the trophy to the winning team.
“It was surprising but that’s how it goes,” said Malcolm Gray, a former ICC president. “It has always been a practice and so I handed it to Ricky Ponting in South Africa in 2003.”
David Morgan, another former ICC president said, “The trophy is always being handed over by the ICC president and I am not aware and can’t imagine what arrangements were made today.
“Perhaps, Srinivasan, being a senior man may have opted to do so.
“During our time, there was no chairman post and thus only the president was empowered to do so.”
Mustafa Kamal didn’t make a comment.
