#UAE15: Lancashire to visit UAE and Sri Lanka for pre-season tour

Lancashire has announced details of its pre-season tour which includes a mouth-watering Roses clash against Yorkshire Vikings in the prestigious Emirates Airline T20 Cup and a trip to the beautiful island of Sri Lanka.Lightning will face their fiercest rivals at The Sevens Cricket Ground in Dubai on Friday 20 March in the first semi-final.

The winner of that contest will then pit their wits against the victors of the second semi final which will see an Alastair Cook-led MCC XI take on three times winners Sussex Sharks.

Cricket Director Ashley Giles said: “Playing abroad in warm and good weather at this time of year is ideal preparation for the ardours of a tough domestic campaign.

“Equally, playing against quality opposition is key and I’m sure the lads will be looking forward to their first taste of Roses cricket this year against Yorkshire before we take them on in the NatWest T20 Blast later in the year! It would be good to see some of our supporters over there out-singing our rivals and I would urge you to join us and get booked up as I hear there’s loads of Yorkies already signed up!”

Lancashire arrive in Dubai on 18 March and will play in a warm up game on the 19 March before taking on Yorkshire Vikings.

Following their stay in the United Arab Emirates, Lancashire will then continue their preparations for the 2015 domestic campaign with a tour of Sri Lanka between 21 March and 1 April.

The opponents for each game are yet to be confirmed, but Lancashire will play two red ball matches on 25 and 26 March and 30 and 31 March , competing in a 50 over game in between on 28 March.
