The Sydney Sixers take on the Melbourne Renegades on Friday with Aaron Finch out to prove he is the world’s best in the shortest format.
In Aaron Finch the Renegades have the League’s most influential players. The 27-year-old is the League’s leading run scorer with 853 runs at 50.17, more than 100 runs ahead of the next batsman (Brad Hodge 751)
The Renegades have recruited some additional big hitters to support captain Finch, including Matthew Wade (previously at the Stars), Jesse Ryder, Callum Ferguson (previously at the Strikers) and West Indian Andre Russell
The Sixers have added two experienced campaigners to their books this season: Doug Bollinger (previously Hobart Hurricanes) and Ed Cowan. Cowan returns to the Sixers having played one match for them in BBL|01 though he didn’t bat or bowl in that match
Both teams have poached their cross-town rival wicket-keepers, with their new keeper recruits leading the League’s dismissal stats. Sixer Ryan Carters (previously Thunder) and Renegade Matthew Wade (previously Stars) have both played 16 matches for 14 dismissals (12 catches and 2 stumpings). Meanwhile Renegade Peter Nevill has played and kept for both clubs.
Last Time Out
Sixers won by 2 runs at Etihad Stadium (18 Jan 2014)
