Two global icons met at the Adelaide Oval this weekend. The Rolling Stones, who performed a concert at the World Cup venue on Saturday night, took a break from rehearsing to pursue their other passion - cricket. Front man Mick Jagger and drummer Charlie Watts were given a private tour of the Bradman Museum by Don Bradman’s son John and were then introduced to the ICC Cricket World Cup trophy.
Both men are hoping that the England cricket team will be lifting the trophy for the first time after the final at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on March 29 next year.
The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will see the world’s best teams competing for cricket’s biggest prize across 14 host cities in Australia and New Zealand. The two countries last hosted the tournament 23 years ago.
