Dhoni’s role in player management company interrogated by Mudgal Panel

The Justice Mukul Mudgal Panel, investigating allegations of corruption in IPL 2013, faces a hectic week in Delhi as it prepares the final draft of its report to the Supreme Court.

B.B. Mishra is all set to submit his final findings to Mudgal for discussion on Monday. Mishra has questioned a number of players including MS Dhoni and his manager and business partner Arun Pandey. Pandey, close friend of the Team India captain, was questioned over whether Dhoni had a stake in his player management company, Rhiti Sports.

He also faced questions on Gurunath Meiyappan’s role in the CSK franchise. Meiyappan, the son-in-law of N Srinivasan, the current chair of the International Cricket Council (ICCC) and suspended President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), has consistently preferred to exercise his fundamental right to remain silent.
Srinivasan has always maintained his innocence in the IPL 2013 scandal, but has been the only name divulged by the Supreme Court, but three other non-cricketers have been implicated, among 13 named in the Mudgal’s first confidential report.
