Mid West Rhinos all rounder Neville Madziva has given credit to coaches Grant Flower and Jason Gillespie for their supporting role in his career.
Madziva was recently included in the Zimbabwe A one-day squad to tour Bangladesh later this month. He will travel to the Asian country later for the three one-day games that come after the two four-dayers.
However, the 22-year-old hailed the role played by his two former franchise coaches and also developmental coach Adam Chifo.
Gillespie coached Rhinos in 2010-11 season before signing for English County side Yorkshire while Flower recently quit to uptake a job at international level as Pakistan batting coach.
“At Rhinos there the coaches (are) always pushing me,” Madziva said. “Grant Flower believes in me. He is always saying ‘you are an all-rounder you should keep on working with the bat and you bowl as well’ and that’s what I did.
“Him and also Adam Chifo in Kadoma and Jason Gillespie because I am still communicating with him is also telling me some tips about how I should improve on my game,” he said.
During the 2013-14 season, Madziva was the best all rounder in the Logan Cup taking 17 wickets and making 321 runs at an average over 60.
