Perth Scorchers fast bowler Jason Behrendorff spoke post-game after taking 3-21 in the club’s stunning super over victory over the Sydney Sixers at the SCG on Friday night.

Behrendorff decimated the Sixers top-order before Yasir Arafat clinched the victory in remarkable fashion, taking 2-1 before Adam Voges hit the winning runs, in the first-ever Australian domestic super over conclusion.

“It was quite unbelievable really. That’s the first time I’ve been involved in a super over, it was heart in your mouth stuff”, said Behrendorff on Arafat’s super over. “He’s the ice man Yasir. There’s not too much we can say about Yas except that he’s a genius.

“We’re really lucky to have him, he was so cool under pressure and he did a great job for us.”

“We’re entrenched in second spot which is fantastic”, he continued. “We’ve got the game against the Strikers on the 16th so hopefully we can have another good win against those guys.

“They are coming off a tough loss so they’ll come out hard, but hopefully we can come out hard as well, get a win and really cement that second spot.”

“I was a lot happier with how I bowled this game compared to last game”, said Behrendorff on his own game. “I hit a better length and swung the ball around a bit.

“To get us off to a good start was the plan for me and I was glad I could do that and help the team out.

“It’s always good to take wickets and to cap it off with a win like that makes it that bit extra special”, Behrendorff concluded.
