WA bounced back on day three, taking four wickets in the first session including the key dismissal of Luke Pomersbach for 159, with Hogan having him caught at first slip by Voges.

Bulls skipper James Hopes scored a half-century but was the first man out after lunch, with Coulter-Nile getting him caught behind, before Mitchell Marsh brilliantly ran out Ben Cutting at the non-striker’s end. In WA’s second innings, opener Luke Towers – who was called into the side to replace Marcus North who went on indefinite leave following the tragic death of his brother on Friday – departed for a golden duck caught behind off Luke Feldman.

Cameron Bancroft and John Rogers tried to drive the Warriors towards Queensland’s lead, but lost the latter advancing when he was stumped off Nathan Hauritz for 22. Bancroft combined well with Voges, with the WA skipper crunching four boundaries off Hauritz’s first over after the tea break. The pair showed positive intent but their promising partnership ended when Hopes had Bancroft caught behind for 38.

Voges and Shaun Marsh pushed WA through to stumps, going past Queensland’s lead, with the hosts 35 runs in front and Voges on the verge of his 11th Shield century ahead of day four.
