Elton Chigumbura helped Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club take 39 runs from a single over bowled by Alauddin Babu in the Dhaka Premier Division match against Abahani Limited on Monday. It is a world record for runs conceded in a single List A over.
The 27-year-old Zimbabwean all-rounder added 50 runs for the 10th wicket with Shafiul Islam in 17 balls, but 32 of his unbeaten 69 from 54 balls came from that one Babu over.
The blast came in the 50th and final over of the innings. 32 came from the bat of Chigumbura and there were 7 extras.
Ball one: 5 runs to Chigumbura off a no ball
Ball one: 1 wide
Ball one: 6 runs Chigumbura
Ball two: 4 runs Chigumbura
Ball three: 6 runs Chigumbura
Ball four: 4 runs Chigumbura
Ball five: 6 runs Chigumbura
Ball six: 1 wide

The over beats the one bowled by Netherlands leg-spinner Dan van Bunge who conceded six sixes to Herschelle Gibbs in the 2007 World Cup.
The previous record in the Dhaka Premier Division was Naeem Islam’s 36 (six sixes) off Marshall Ayub in the 2009-10 season at the same ground as Chigumbura’s fireworks.
Chigumbura hit 4 fours and 5 sixes in his innings as his side won the List A fixture by 28 runs.
