Cameron White sees Bushrangers home to second Ryobi Cup win

Cameron White (86 from 89 balls) led the assault as the Victorian Bushrangers defeated the West End Redbacks by six wickets at Bankstown Oval today to notch their second successive win at the start of the Ryobi One-Day Cup.

White hit 6 fours and 4 sixes to see his side to a comfortable victory after South Australia won the toss and batted.

Debutant Sam Miller (47*) top-scored for the Redbacks and was supported by Michael Klinger (33), Phil Hughes (35) and Tim Ludeman (38) as SA batted their way to a respectable total of 232 for six.

Rob Quiney hit a composed 65 and Matthew Wade (44) before White’s quick hitting saw the Vics safely home with two overs to spare.

Victoria had demolish Tasmania in Sydney three days earlier when Fawah Ahmed starred with 4 for 38 and John Hastings took 3 for 24 as Taz were all out for 197. The Vics raced home by 5 wickets with 31 balls to spare.

In the opening match of the Ryobi series Tasmania received another heavy defeat, this time at the hands of New South Wales. Steve Smith made a fluent 70 in 99 balls as NSW posted 178 for 9. In reply, Tasmania were skittled for 97 all out as Moises Henriques grabbed 4 for 17.
