Rajeev Shukla has reinforced his commitment that he would not be the chairman of the Indian Premier League (IPL) next year.
He resigned from the position after last season’s spot-fixing, but the interim chief of the BCCI, Jagmohan Dalmiya, has yet to accept his departure.
“This is why I still chair the meetings of Champions Trophy but it is for sure that I would not take the post of IPL chairman next year,” Shukla told the Times of India at the weekend. “I had resigned from the post and I don’t intend to take it again,”
“As far as my chairing of the Champions League meeting in London is concerned I feel my resignation was from IPL and that too has not been accepted as yet,” he added.
The Champions League t20 is set to start in New Delhi on September 21 with the final at the same venue on October 6.
